Overview

All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Patna (AIIMS Patna) is a government medical institute established in 2012 in Patna, Bihar. Previously known as Jaya Prakash Narayan All India Institute of Medical Sciences (JPNAIIMS), AIIMS Patna is recognized as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India. It is approved by the Medical Council of India (MCI) and the Indian Nursing Council (INC). AIIMS Patna is ranked at 27th position in the NIRF Ranking 2023 in Medical Category.

AIIMS Patna offers courses in different specializations at UG, PG, Super Specialty, and Doctoral levels. MBBS, B.Sc Nursing, MD/ MS, M.Sc Nursing, D.M/ M.Ch, and Ph.D. are the various courses offered by AIIMS Patna. Admission to all the courses at AIIMS Patna is entrance-based followed by a counseling procedure. The institute accepts NEET UG and INI CET for admission to MBBS and MD/MS respectively. There are four lecture theatres in the college building, all of them are equipped with centralised air conditioning, projectors and many other facilities. It also comprises e-class rooms for conduct of various seminars. Class of 2012 batch started in AIIMS Patna on 25 September 2012 with 50 medical students being admitted in AIIMS Patna.
