Overview

Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute Since 1887, when it was known as Victoria Jubilee Technical Institute, VJTI Mumbai has been a leader in India's engineering and technological education, research, and training. VJTI played a key role in advancing Industry 2.0 across all of undivided India prior to independence. Following independence, VJTI was crucial in helping to establish India's IITs and RECs and bolster the nation's engineering and technological prowess. On January 26, 1997, the Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute received its current name. The institute has a reputation for providing outstanding instruction in technology and engineering courses to more than 3,000 students at the diploma, degree, and postgraduate levels. There are more than 27 courses available at the undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate, diploma, and post-diploma levels. For the purpose of operating generally, it is given grants-in-aid by the government. The institution is situated in Matunga, Mumbai, Maharashtra, at H R Mahajani Road. For various courses and student groups, the institution has varied cost structures. A portion of the university cost will be waived for students who belong to underprivileged classes, scheduled castes, or scheduled tribes. Students who are academically talented, are from underrepresented groups economically, are handicapped or disabled, are state minorities, or are economically disadvantaged are also eligible for the scholarship.
