National Institute of Design (NID), Bangalore is one of the three campuses of NID Ahmedabad. Established in March 2006 in Yeshvanthpur, the institute has been declared as an “Institute of National Importance” by the Government of India. NID Bangalore is set up as a joint initiative of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, and the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India. NID Bangalore has been ranked 2nd in India by IIRF 2024 in the field of Design. The institute currently offers M.Des (Master of Design) in the disciplines of Design for Retail Experience, Digital Game Design, Information Design, Interaction Design, and Universal Design. The total course fee for M.Des at NID Bangalore is INR 11.5 Lakhs for a duration of 2.5 Years. NID Bangalore Admission is based on the score obtained by the candidates in NID DAT (NID Design Aptitude Test) which involves two stages namely Prelims and Mains. Located on a small 2-acre site in Bengaluru, the IT city of India, NID Bangalore Campus is in sync with the city ecosystem and focuses on bringing digital inclusion in their products, and processes across the various disciplines. The campus has also actively collaborated with various industry partners on research initiatives.
