Overview

NEET PG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Post-Graduation) is the single entrance exam for admissions to various MD (Doctor of Medicine)/ MS (Master in Surgery) and PG Diploma courses across the country. The examination is conducted annually by the National Board of Examinations (NBE). NEET PG scores are used for taking admissions into post-MBBS DNB courses. NEET PG 2020 Eligibility Criteria 

  • Aspirants having an MBBS degree or Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate which is recognized as per the provisions of the Indian Medical Council Act 1956 can apply.
  • He/ she should also possess a permanent/ provisional registration certificate of MBBS qualification issued by the Medical Council of India or State Medical Council.
  • He/ she must have completed one year of internship. Candidate who is likely to complete the internship on or before March 31, 2020 can apply for NEET PG.
  • Aspirants found ineligible at any stage of NEET PG 2020 will not be permitted to take the exam or appear for counseling. Their results or candidature will also be cancelled.
  • Request for appearing in NEET PG 2020 from candidates will complete their internship after 31st March 2020 or having qualifications that are not recognized will be rejected.
  • Registration and /or appearance in NEET PG 2020 does not make aspirants eligible for admission at medical institute /college for MD/MS or PG Diploma Courses.

NEET PG 2020: Admission Process

NEET PG 2020 admit card

NEET PG admit card 2020 could be downloaded upon the conclusion of the registration process successfully. All the information should be carefully verified by the aspirant upon receiving his/her NEET PG admit card. He/ she must then print a copy of NEET PG admit cards and affix a latest passport size photograph on it. Candidates must keep the admit card of NEET PG 2020 safe until the admission process is over. Specifications of the photograph are as under:

Photograph specification:

  • A photograph of a minimum of 35 mm x 45 mm with at least 75% coverage of face & head of the candidate.
  • A caption with the name of the aspirant along with the date of taking photograph at the bottom of the photo.
  • The photograph should have been taken in a white /very light-colored background
  • The photograph needs to be printed on a high-quality paper with at least 600 dpi Resolutions.
  • The colors must possess the natural appearance and skin tone.
  • The photograph must not have kinks, scratches and stains.
  • Photograph with reflection or shadow on the face with red eyes should be avoided

NEET PG 2020 result

NEET PG result has been uploaded online. The result of NEET PG 2020 was released in a PDF format. Candidates who clear the examination can able to download the scorecard/ rank card by logging into their registered account on the official website of NBE. 

NEET PG 2020 counselling

Admissions to the MD/MS/DNB courses will be through the counselling of NEET PG 2020. The body responsible for conducting NEET 2020 counselling is the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). Seat allotment list for the first round of counselling has been released. Online registrations for the first round of counselling began March 12.

Aspirants of NEET PG 2020 must register themselves on the official website of MCC and fill the application form for participating in the counselling. The application process involves the following steps:

  1. Creating a profile on the official website of MCC
  2. Completing the application form of NEET PG 2020 counselling 
  3. Uploading the required documents
  4. Deposing the application fee for NEET PG counselling (credit card/ debit card/ net banking)
  5. Choice filling and locking
  6. Print a copy of the duly filled application form

NEET PG Exam Day Guidelines

  • Candidates are advised to reach the exam centre at least an hour prior to the examination.
  • It is mandatory for all the candidates to go through the security procedures,
    Electronics such as calculators, smartwatch, pagers, etc. are prohibited in the exam hall.
  • Candidates are advised not to carry bags, books, pens, pencil boxes, writing pad, etc. to the exam centre. These items are banned inside the examination hall and the centre will not have provisions to keep these.

NEET PG syllabus comprises of subjects areas as per the Graduate Medical Education Regulations issued by Medical Council of India. It is important for a candidate to go through the syllabus of NEET PG 2020 before starting his/ her preparation. NEET PG syllabus will give the test taker an idea of the topics that he/she needs to prepare for the examination. NBE does not prescribe the syllabus of NEET PG word by word, candidates can thus refer to the syllabus prescribed by the Medical Council of India. NEET PG exam will be conducted on January 5, 2020 (tentatively).
