Overview

NMAT By GMAC 2020 dates have been announced by Graduate Management Aptitude Council. NMAT by GMAC or NMAT is a national-level MBA entrance test for admission NMIMS University and other reputed B-Schools in India. The exam will be conducted online over a a 75 day period from October 6 to December 19, 2020. It is a gateway for admissions to MBA program offered by various reputed institutions of the country. The online registrations for the exam will commence from July 2 and aspirants can apply till October 5, 2020. 

Application Process

• Candidates have the opportunity to choose 5 college/institute while filling the application form to send their NMAT scores. 
• NMAT exam pattern consist of 120 multiple choice questions to be attempted in 2 hours. A limited amount of time will be allotted for attempting each section.
• The question paper will comprise questions from Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language. There will be 3 marks for each correct response without any negative marking.
• GMAC has released list of more than 35 Business schools accepting NMAT Scores. After the declaration of result in the first week of January institutes will release  NMAT cut off individually.

NMAT Eligibility Criteria 2020

The exam conducting authority has specified the following eligibility criteria for NMAT 2020. All the management aspirants should go through the eligibility requirements before applying for the examination.

• Graduate degree must be completed under 10+2+3 or 4 years education pattern from any stream.
• Minimum 50% marks in aggregate is required in the final year of graduation.
• Candidates awaiting results or appearing in the final year examination are also eligible to apply for NMAT 2020. Admission is granted on provisional basis till graduation mark sheets and certificate of qualifying the examination are submitted.

Additionally, candidates should check the eligibility criteria of NMAT participating colleges individually before registering for the examination. They are required to select five institutes of their preference for admission while applying and those institutes can have different eligibility criteria for admission.

NMAT 2020 Selection Process

NMAT selection process, comprising Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) is done individually by each institute accepting NMAT score. Here is a brief look at the different stages of NMAT selection process:

1'st Stage: NMAT Exam

The first stage in the selection process is qualifying the NMAT exam conducted in online mode. The online paper has three sections Language Skills, Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning.

The duration of the test is 2 hours and 120 MCQs are asked in the exam. The table below indicates section-wise distribution of questions and time allotted to each of them.

2'nd Stage: GD - PI Round

The next stage in the NMAT selection process is the GD & PI round. This is conducted at the individual level for all the candidates shortlisted based on NMAT score. Candidates must meet the cut off score stipulated by the exam conducting authority.

The participating institute may also decide to conduct WAT (Writing Ability Test) or Case Discussion (CD) round instead of the conventional GD round. The decison of final admission is based on the combined performance in NMAT online test and GD - PI round.

NMAT 2020 Exam Day Guidelines

• Report to the allotted exam centre for NMAT by GMAC 2020 at least an hour before the exam begins.
• Carry NMAT admit card as well as one valid photo ID (original as well as one copy) to the venue
• Valid photo IDs include Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, PAN card, Driving License and Debit Card/Credit Card (with signature of candidate)
• Do not carry any prohibited electronic items, study material or mobile phones as these items are not allowed in the exam centres
• NMAT admit card contains important instructions for the exam day and test centre. Don't forget to carefully go through the instructions.

NMAT 2020 Test Centre Facility for Test Takers with Disabilities

Test takers with disability will have access to special arrangements during NMAT by GMAC including accommodation facility. Such candidates should submit a request to GMAC for the same while filling up NMAT application form.
