Overview

KIITEE 2020 will be conducted by KIIT University for admission to various undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses. The application form of KIITEE 2020 is available online from November 16 to March 31, 2020. The Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology Entrance Examination (KIITEE) is to be conducted from April 14 to 30, 2020 in online mode at around 69 cities spread across 27 states and UTs in the country. To appear for KIITEE 2020, candidates have to pass their class 12 examination or equivalent for UG courses whereas candidates applying for PG programmes must have completed their graduation. Qualified candidates in KIITEE 2020 will be called for counselling on the basis of the ranks secured in the entrance examination.

KIITEE 2020 Eligibility

KIITEE eligibility criteria will vary for different courses. Given below is KIITEE eligibility criteria 2020 for BTech courses:

BTech (4 Years)/ BTech & MTech (Dual Degree) Biotechnology (5 Years)

1. Educational Qualification

  • Candidates should clear Class 12th in 2018, 2019 or should appear for Class 12th exams in 2020.
  • Candidates should clear Class 12th in regular full-time mode.    

2. Qualifying Marks

  • Candidates should pass Class 12th with minimum 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together.
  • For BTech & MTech (Dual Degree) Biotechnology: Candidates should pass Class 12th with minimum 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ Biology/ Biotechnology taken together.

3. Age Limit

  • Candidates should have been born on or after July 1, 1998.

2. Qualifying Marks

  • Candidates should pass the diploma in Engineering with minimum of 60% aggregate marks.  

3. Age Limit

  • Candidates should have been born on or after July 1, 1995.

Note: Candidates who possess IB Diploma from International Baccalaureate Organization, Geneva, Switzerland are eligible to apply for the aforementioned courses. Regarding the same, the official website of the exam informs, “A candidate who has passed IB Diploma from International Baccalaureate Organization, Geneva, Switzerland are eligible to take admission in all the courses where 10+2 is the eligibility qualification. Other criteria of the eligibility remain as applicable.”

Documents Required for KIITEE 2020

To fill the KIITEE application form, candidates need to have the following documents ready:

  • Scanned Class 10th certificate/ mark sheet (in jpg format and size not more than 1 MB)
  • Scanned passport size coloured photograph (in jpg format and size not more than 50 KB)
  • Scanned signature (in jpg format and size not more than 50 KB)

KIITEE 2020 Reservation Criteria

KIITEE 2020 quota seats are distributed among candidates of different categories as below:

Note:

  • For BTech/ BTech & MTech (Dual Degree) Biotechnology: 30% seats in each category (including General category) are reserved for women candidates.
  • All unfilled reserved seats will be converted to General category.

KIITEE 2020 Exam Day Guidelines

Candidates appearing for KIITEE 2020 are recommended to follow the below-mentioned exam day guidelines to avoid any last-minute hassle:

What to carry on Exam Day?

KIITEE 2020 is a computer-based test and candidates will be given a sheet for any rough work that they do. However, candidates need to carry a pen or pencil inside the exam hall for rough work.   

What NOT to carry on Exam Day?

  • KIITEE 2020 aspirants are not allowed to carry any textual material or things like calculator, electronics watch, slide rule, log table, mobile phone, and pager inside the exam hall.
  • Smoking inside the exam hall is strictly prohibited.
  • Candidates are not allowed to carry any snacks, tea, coffee or cold drinks inside the exam hall.  

Documents required:

  • Admit card: KIITEE 2020 admit card is a mandatory document to be carried to the exam centre on the day of the test. It may be noted that a candidate without a valid admit card will not be allowed to enter the exam hall.
  • Photo: Candidates must carry a passport size photograph (preferably the one used on the application form) to the exam centre. The photograph is needed for verification of the candidate’s identity.
  • ID Proof: Along with the photo, candidates must also carry an original photo ID proof for verification. An ID proof can be any document containing a candidate’s name and photo like PAN card, Aadhaar card, voter ID card, passport, etc.  

KIITEE 2020 Admission Process 

KIITEE selection process includes the following steps:

Step 1: Fill KIITEE Application Form

Firstly, aspirants need to register for KIITEE in online mode on the official website of the exam. Please note that no application or examination fee is charged for KIITEE.

Step 2: Download KIITEE Admit Card

KIITEE 2020 admit cards can be downloaded from the official website of the exam. For the same, candidates need to visit the official website of KIITEE at any time between April, 2020 and May, 2020. 

Step 3: Appear for KIITEE 2020

KIITEE is a computer-based exam that is conducted every year in the month of April. The duration of the test is 180 minutes (three hours). Aspirants are advised to reach their allotted exam centre at least 45 minutes before the commencement of the exam.

Step 4: Check KIITEE Exam Result

KIITEE exam result is usually declared in the last week of April or first week of May. The result contains details like a candidate's merit position, score-card with total marks, and marks obtained in each subject. It may be noted that separate merit lists are prepared for all the programmes by the university.

Step 5: Appear for KIITEE Counselling

Aspirants who clear the exam finally need to appear for KIITEE counselling which is typically held in May/June every year. In KIITEE counselling session, candidates are allotted seats in their respective courses on the basis of ranks obtained by them in the exam.
