National Institute of Fashion Design (NIFD), Andheri Mumbai was established in the year 2003 with just 6 students, in present, has an intake capacity of about 200 students. The institute is affiliated with Medhavi Skill University and recognised by Maharashtra State Board of Skill Development. Further, NIFD has international affiliation London School of Trendz, UK. NIFD Andheri Bandra was awarded as “No1 Design institute in Mumbai” year 2022/2023 by Times of India. The institute was also awarded as the platinum Center amongst 180 NIFD Centres for excellence in Fashion and Interior design education-2022. NIFD offers UGC approved Degree and MSBD Diploma (Maharashtra State Board of Skill Development ) to the students. The primary areas of academics of the college are Fashion, Interiors, and Textiles Design. It proudly has been recognized as the best center for academic purposes nationwide. The Fashion Institute offer B.Voc, B.Des, M.Voc, M.Des, MBA and several short-term certificate courses in Fashion and Interior Design. Admissions to such courses are done on the merit-basis. With 20 years of excellence, Ishan Education provides strong academics to make the students industry ready. The faculties at NIFD are well versed having 20 to 25 years of industry experience. The mentors are Manish Malhotra and Ashley Rebello for Fashion Design. The famous Twinkle Khanna had recently introduced the Interior Academy as part of the International Institute of Fashion Design. NIFD provides 100% placement opportunities to the final year students. Some of the recruiters that visit the campus during the placement are ANA Designs, Sleek Kitchen, Abu jani Sandeep Khosla, Tommy Hilfiger, Neeta Lulla and Many more.
