Overview

Oxford University was founded before 1096 by the William of Durham. Located in the city of Oxford, which is a short distance from the west of London, the University of Oxford is one of the most distinguished institution in the study abroad domain. It is a unique and historic institution that is documented as being one of the oldest English universities in the world.

As per the Shiksha Grading, Oxford University has an A++ ranking. At A++ grade overall, the University also has an A++ ranking for streams, such as Business Economics, Computer Sciences, and Electrical Engineering. Oxford university grew very fast starting 1167 when many English students had returned from the University of Paris. It does not have a main campus, but its buildings and facilities are scattered throughout the city centre. The head of Oxford College received the title of Chancellor in 1201. Teaching at Oxford University started as early as 1096 but it is not clear when the university existed first. Some of the early founders of the university included William of Durham who endowed University College in 1249 and a father of a future King of Scots.
